Hibiscus sabdariffa / A Row of Roselle

The row of Roselle is looking good. One of the plant even has a branch growing outwards while the others are just shooting upwards. The stems are red and this is an indication that the plants are receiving enough sunlight to grow well.

It's the first time I see a roselle plant. This fruit is getting popular these days. They are now sold in our local supermarket and night market. I love drinks made of this fruit.

Wish I could plant one too. May I know is this the tallest height of the roselle plant? If yes, then I can grow it in my garden too. If too big, I don't have the space for it. Thanks.

Hi J.C.
The roselle can grow taller to almost 2m in height. But I suppose you can keep the height in check by snipping the tip at intervals of time and more branches will grow sideways instead. hth

Hi there,

A beautiful blog you have.

I am representing my group from the NUS. We are working on a module on medicinal plants and are studying Roselle, Hibiscus sabdariffa. We were wondering if you are still growing the plant and weather we could take pictures of it for our project? If not, do you happen to know of anyone who is growing them?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
