CG Adoption By Xin Min Primary Pt. 5

Finally after a hard day's work we had a hearty lunch to wine down the festivity. Neighbors share notes and anecdotes with one another to break the ice. Some had the chance to chit-chat with our MP.
It's nice to see the young and old and not so old get together like this.... a  multi -generation gathering.

CG Adoption By Xin Min Primary Pt. 2

With the arrival of Mr.Yeo Guat Kwang (MP for AMK-Hougang), the festivites began in earnest. Mr Yeo visited the displays set up for the community's view, watched a video, played a game , drank Liang Teh and ate a piece of Air Potato Cake. He then watched a demo on how to recycle a pet bottle and  visited the free plants corner but didn't take up the challenge to take home a free plant to grow it till it bloom for him. I guess not ... being the busy MP that he is .... LOL. Then it was time to unveil the plaques given for the adoption ceremony and to receive the CG sign board crafted and donated by a famous local artist.

CG Adoption By Xin Min Primary Pt. 1

On the 12th Nov. 2011 the CG together with HDB organised an Open House at the CG for the ceremony to take place. We invited many members in the community to witness the ceremony. We had the HDB director, Xin Min Primary School Principle and Mr Yeo Guat  Kwang .... our MP to join in the festivities together with us.

HDB together with the CG put up static diplays of photos from the garden activities we had with the students, video recordings were shared. There were corners for free plants and CG gifts. We had a  food sampling table where  we shared our Liang Teh and Air Potato Cake made from our garden harvests. There was also a  Spot the Difference Game for our visitors to play and earn a prize. Early in the morning we had the residents nearby streaming in to see "What's Happening?" under their void deck and many were pleasantly surprised!
Here are some memorable moments captured ......

Rose Patch

We had quite a number of Climber roses grown from cuttings growing big and had transplanted them outside the CG gate. Let's see how they do in that area.
