Moon Vine

I bought a dollar worth of Moon vine seeds and tried germinating them. Out of the four, only two managed to germinate and grow till true leaves are formed. The seed leaves are really huge when compared to those that I've been handling. One of them has been planted next to the fence of the CG. This vine is supposed to bloom beautiful white flowers that give off a lovely fragrance. I'm looking forward to this as I usually work in the garden in the early evenings.

Here's the pics of the Moon Vine seedlings planted near the fence of the CG. Sending good vibes for them to grow and grow enough to cover a section of the fence and then bloom the beautiful and fragrant flowers.

Roselle

I got the seeds from Wisteria and germinated them and planted them this way thinking that they are climbers. I got feedback that they can grow to be rather large plants and are not climbers LOL .Now I've planted them in another part of the garden. Will update at a later date.

Update 21/3/09
Here's where the roselles are planted now and they are doing quite well cos' I see they have red stems now. That means they are getting enough sunlight for them to grow. In fact when I checked on them recently two of the plantlets seem to be fruiting and another one has a flower bud blooming.

Phoenix Pumpkin

I was given these pumpkin seeds by Wisteria, a GCS member through SASE and out of the five I sowed only three germinated. After about a month of growing in my house, I planted them in the CG and two survived. At the moment they seem to be doing OK ... no insect attack nor downy mildew attack. I'm keeping my fingers cross and have gotten ready some organic insect repellent and organic fungicide too.

Here are the two pumpkin plants laying side by side. Later on I will need to build a trellis for them. Hopefully they can grow till this stage. Sending good vibes to the pumpkins to grow, grow and grow :-)

French Beans

I gotten the seeds from the seed pods grown in the garden and have planted them in the planter bed. They are now climbing up the trellis that I built and hopefully in a couple of months time the trellis will be covered by the leaves and the fruit pods will just hang down for me to harvest LOL

Morning Glories

Some months back, I picked up some wild Morning Glory vines that was growing on a patch of vacant land. I soaked the vines in water for a couple of days before planting them near the CG fence. My neighbour helped me to fertilise them a couple of times and then I forgot about them.
I realised they were flowering during this period and I felt really happy about them.

Now I have a vision of that part of the fence being covered by Morning Glory flowers in a riot of colors. Let see if this vision can come true. I bought some assorted Morning Glory seeds and also obtained seeds via SASE from Maeyi who is a member of GCS. Maeyi posted the beautiful Morning Glory flowers that she grew in her garden and I hope to have success with them too.

Here were the assorted Morning Glory seedlings that I germinated. Some looked pretty healthy and some were not. Let's see how they grow in the garden.

Here the first batch of seedlings had been planted near the CG fence. Sending good vibes for them to grow.

Here were the seedlings from Maeyi's batch of seeds ...the red and blue Morning Glories. They have also been planted near the CG fence.

The last time I saw them Morning glory seedlings .... some of the leaves got insect bitten holes. Let's hope that the vines will grow faster than the insects eating them LOL. Maybe I should spray some insect repellent oil on the batch of Morning Glory seedlings. I only hope that they can withstand the oil emulsion and come out of spraying unaffected.
