Moon Vine Fence Trellis

It has been almost seven months and the two Moon Vines that I planted have began to produce seeds for the next generation. The gigantic white flowers bloom around seven in the evenings and when I put my nose near the flower to sniff the fragrance, I can barely discern the faint baby powder smell. Someone in the forum shared that the fragrance the flowers emit is strongest at mid-night. Oh no! Unless I make a trip to the garden at midnight to smell the flowers, I'll never know ... LOL. I am contented to just admire the flowers for now as I usually have to leave the garden by 7 pm to do my motherly duty.

Moon Vine Seedpods and Seeds

As the Moon Vine has been flowering profusely, I have been looking out for the seed pods and finally I managed to find some. Some of the flowers do not result in seed pods if the female flowers are not pollinated. The seeds pods hold one or two seeds only and the seeds are whitish and they as big a s a human tooth.

Moon Flowers

I walked past the fence this evening and saw from the corner of my eyes a couple of large white blobs and realised that they were the flowers from the moon vines. Looks like the flowering period is on for the moon vines!

Full Bloom Moon Vine Flower

I guess I was a little too late to enjoy the full beauty of this bloom. The rain drops got to it first and split the petal into this pattern. Any way this is one pic for rememberance.

Moon Vine

I bought a dollar worth of Moon vine seeds and tried germinating them. Out of the four, only two managed to germinate and grow till true leaves are formed. The seed leaves are really huge when compared to those that I've been handling. One of them has been planted next to the fence of the CG. This vine is supposed to bloom beautiful white flowers that give off a lovely fragrance. I'm looking forward to this as I usually work in the garden in the early evenings.

Here's the pics of the Moon Vine seedlings planted near the fence of the CG. Sending good vibes for them to grow and grow enough to cover a section of the fence and then bloom the beautiful and fragrant flowers.
